Maybe you’ve heard it a million times. Well now it’s a million and one.

Maybe it was never going to be what we thought. Only better.
What comes first? Routine or commitment? Is commitment only made in the following of routine? Or is routine born from a deepening commitment?
Did she know? Did my friend know that when she got me this journal I was on a path even I didn’t know I was on? It’s true. I never could have predicted I’d be living an alcohol-free life. When I first started questioning my relationship with alcohol I turned to writing. It wasn’t until a few weeks in I realized how apt this journal cover was. It felt like everything. It made it feel as if this was always the path, even if I didn’t know it yet.
